Ralph Steadman was born in 1936, and is known for his 'political and social caricatures'. Steadman has created lots of illustrations throughout his career, working with Hunter S. Thompson, creating drawings for books, as well as his own series of prints. Steadman has had many of his illustrations used in books, for example Alice and Wonderland, Treasure Island and Animal farm. His interesting style has brought lots of success to him.

I've been really inspired by Steadman's style of drawing, it's really free and messy which is something I want to play around with. I think because my work is really controlled and quite clean, it think it would be interesting to see how my style mixes with Steadman's. I like the way he draws also, I think he has such a quirky style which is definitely something I would like to practice. There is something really interesting about the way he creates his faces, and my project is full of characters who have incorrect facial proportions.
