Kelly Doty is a tattooist and painter from America. Her artwork is very unusual in the sense of she doesn't create portraits with correct facial structure. I haven't been able to find why Doty chose new school as her main style of tattooing and painting, so I am choosing her as one of my inspiring artists on the way her work looks. 

I think all of Doty's work is really interesting. I love the style of her tattoos, I love her use of colour, and I really like her overall aesthetic. Her style is what has drawn me to her more than anything; I think it's in a similar style to Dustin Bailard, who has been a massive inspiration for my project. With the style I have been going for I think that Doty is a good artist to help me push my style, and not get stuck in creating the same things over again. I like the fact her characters aren't realistic, I love the unusual look of the features, I like the disproportion to their faces. Overall, I think Doty is an amazing artist to help me push on my project in terms of painting.
