-Schiele was an Austrian Expressionism painter, who created provocative collections of artwork. According to the website linked above, Schiele is known for being "grotesque, erotic, pornographic, and disturbing, focusing on sex, death, and discovery". I chose Egon Schiele because I really like the way he creates his figures. I love the unusual, distorted shapes of the body, which is something I've tried to attempt. Another thing being inspired by Schiele helped me

progress with using colour a lot more. I think since Schiele doesn't use realistic colours within his work, I was more inclined to use unrealistic colours. I also really like the lines that he adds to his work, which is something I think I've took heavy inspiration from and added my own style to it. The lines I have decided to use are much different because they aren't subtle and are created by using heavy, dark materials. As well as appreciating Schiele's aesthetic to his creations, I also like what he was painting. I think it's quite scary and daunting to paint something that some people may find offensive. But to Schiele, it seemed that there was no limit. As mentioned before, he would be known for painting grotesque and erotic work, which will be shocking to a lot of people. Obviously this didn't effect Schiele, because he was and still is very well known and influential.
